Self-directed learning (SDL) is a methodology where an individual takes control of what he/she wants to learn and how. Younnique’s belief is that each person is unique, has different kinds of intelligence. Most of us go to the school where we are educated in more or less the same way and each student is different one size cannot fit all. Hence our belief that students should be allowed to make their own choices of learning based on their true potential and abilities they possess. They should be allowed to chase their passion and interests, Original thinking should be encouraged and nurtured. We are at our productive best when we do what we love. If we love the work we do, we would be always eager to improve and explore new things, new ideas, new ways, new methods.

Younnique’s learning environment not just encourages original thinking, but also helps to develop & nurture. In combination with our 21 Point Approach Younnique not just enables our fellow students to identify their learning path, but also helps them plan, set realistic goals, use key learning tools. Self-directed learning methodology helps a person to be a life-long learner.
Experiential learning is a process of learning through experiences which are also mentioned as student-centered learning. Our experiences in life provide us the know-how of how we address a particular problem or react to a situation. Experiential learning helps a person develop critical thinking, problem-solving and decision making abilities which are key components of Life Skills.

Most of our daily activities (more than 50%) we do are primarily driven by our habits and habits are built when we routinely perform an activity which is based on our experiences, both positive and negative experiences. It is important for a person to have diverse and real-world experiences that give provides us know-hows of how to handle a particular situation which in turn develops our decision making and problem-solving skills.

One has to move out of their comfort zone in order to have diverse experiences in life. Comfort zone is our biggest enemy to creativity.

Robin S. Sharma explained, “As you move outside of your comfort zone, what was once the unknown and frightening becomes your new normal.” That which is scary will eventually become comfortable. You will open yourself up to amazing new experiences. You may even meet new people and develop new relationships. You are a work in progress. Break out of your comfort zone, face your fear, overcome the challenges, and take the risk; you’ll be glad you did.
